Nucleus: The control centre of the cell, found in eukaryotes contains genetic material which defines the appearance and behaviour of an organism.
Cytoplasm: a gel-like substance where most of the chemical processes takes place, the cytoplasm is controlled by enzymes.
The cell membrane: a multifaceted membrane that protects and holds the cell together. This controls the movement of substances in and out of the cell.
The mitochondria: a tubular-shaped organelle where most of the reactions involved with respirations take place.
Ribosomes: a complex cellular mechanism that produces proteins from amino acids.
Chloroplasts: a small cell organelle where photosynthesis take place.
Cell wall: The outer layer of a plant also known as the protoplast protects and supports the cell.
Vacuole: a relatively large structure filled with a watery fluid which contains water and other substances.
