An ending can change an earlier impression - Paper 4

Original short sequence, 'Stage': Mia asked for the spotlight to be moved. Twice Mia checked its angle from the front row. When the curtain opened, the light fell on the quiet stagehand receiving an award. Consider what a reader knows at each point. A final detail can reframe an earlier action; it does not make every first impression certain or erase the earlier facts.
