Original narrative-time model, 'announcement': Noor looked up at the announcement. Last term, that introduction had preceded an unexpected award. Today the speaker was introducing the fire-drill instructions. Distinguish when events happened from when readers learn them. A past association can illuminate a present response without making the current event identical to the past one.
