A claim can conflict with its evidence - Paper 4
Read the information, then answer the questions. An adult may read the instructions aloud. Show your working where asked.
Read before answering
Original first-person passage, 'The invitation': I was relieved not to be invited. I asked two people what time the party started, then said I had only wanted to avoid the traffic. Separate the narrator's claim from reported behaviour. A tension invites a qualified interpretation; it does not prove every detail false or reveal the author's life.
