Read before answering
Paper model with equal-volume compartments: initially left has 10 particles and right has 2. During one interval, 3 cross left to right and 1 cross right to left. Particles move randomly; the net transfer is the difference between crossings. Equal counts mean equal concentration only because the volumes are equal.
