Triangle ABC has AB = AC and vertex angle BAC = 80 degrees. Its two base angles are equal. Separately, a convex quadrilateral has three interior angles 90, 100 and 80 degrees. Triangles total 180 degrees; quadrilaterals total 360 degrees. Side equality alone does not guarantee right angles.
