Fictional proposal: add a sheltered outdoor reading area. Proposed benefit: reading outdoors could become easier in light rain. Objection: construction and maintenance costs. No survey or cost study has been conducted. Suggested investigation: compare safe designs and estimated upkeep. Distinguish a possible benefit from a measured result, and represent the objection fairly rather than attacking the person raising it.
