Original poem; slashes mark line breaks: A folded map / sleeps in a pocket / holding paths / we have not walked. Line breaks invite consideration, not identical compulsory pauses. Try two interpretations using pace, pauses and emphasis. A performance should fit the words rather than simply sound dramatic.
