Original poem; slashes mark line breaks: Beyond the wall / the garden listens / one late bird / answers the dusk. Line breaks invite consideration, not identical compulsory pauses. Try two interpretations using pace, pauses and emphasis. A performance should fit the words rather than simply sound dramatic.
