Word study: seize means to take hold of something suddenly or firmly. Read aloud: 'In the story, the character tried to seize the falling map.' Spelling note: Seize has ei after s, not c; learn this exception rather than spelling sieze. Read and discuss the model first. Then cover it while writing the word, uncover it and compare the letters. For question 3, create a new sentence rather than copying this one.
