Vector project: a flower made from petals and a centre circle. Problem: one petal is accidentally above the centre. Vector objects can remain separately editable. Stacking order controls what covers what; grouping keeps relative positions when moving objects and is not necessarily permanent merging. Use original shapes in an approved tool, save and reopen the editable file.
