Read before answering

Writing brief: write a guide for a younger reader about using an invented picture dictionary. Suggested paragraph headings: Find a starting letter; Match a picture and word; Check a meaning. Clear model: 'Open the section for the word's first letter, then use the pictures and labels together.' Unclear draft: 'Just find it.' Your reader cannot see you pointing. Supply useful detail without inventing real school rules; this is a model writing task.
