Tell us how an action happens - Online practice 2
Read the information, then answer the questions. An adult may read the instructions aloud. Show your working where asked.
Read before answering
Read with an adult: 'a slow snail' uses slow to describe a noun. Add ly: slow + ly = slowly. Now read 'The snail crawled slowly.' The verb crawled tells the action. The adverb slowly tells us how it happened. These examples keep the root spelling. Not all adverbs end in ly: 'The rabbit ran fast' is correct.
