Original complete short passage, 'Practice key': The orchestra room was locked. Noor held the key the conductor had posted after their argument. Through the glass she could see her old chair, with a new score resting on it. She slid the key towards the lock, stopped, and read the envelope again. Inside, someone began tuning a violin. Noor turned the key. The note trembled, then steadied.
