Draw a top-view 3 by 3 grid. Columns are A, B, C from left to right; rows are 1, 2, 3 from top to bottom. Put a toy at A2, facing right. Forward moves one square in the facing direction. A right turn rotates a quarter-turn clockwise without moving squares. Adult reads and helps with the labels.
