Fraction

A fraction is an amount of a whole number. There are numerator which is the top half of the fraction, and a denominator which is the bottom half of the fraction.

A circle splits by three parts, the denominator should be show how many parts are divided to be.

Read a fraction: 1/3 – one third, 1/5 – one fifth, 3/5 – three fifth.

Unit fraction and Non unit fraction

Unit fraction: The unit fractions are the any fraction numerator should be one .The denominator is to be a whole number. Example: 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 …

Non Unit fraction: The numerator is to be any number not one and it should be greater than one. Example: 2/3, 3/6, 5/8…

Equivalent fraction

Equivalent fractions are the fractions that have different numerator and denominator but are equal to the same value.
